Our Mission

Trisha & Door started as something that belonged to our family, and honestly, it still does.

The stories pull from our lives. Something happens, my daughter takes it somewhere completely ridiculous, and before long Trisha and Door are dealing with a problem neither of us saw coming. There’s no formula. If we’re laughing—and especially if I can get her giggling—we’re probably onto something.

That’s the part I never want to lose.

I believe imagination needs to be used. It needs to be encouraged, exercised and sometimes given permission to go completely off the rails. These stories are our way of doing that together.

And if they can do the same for another family, even better.

Read a few stories. Laugh at the ridiculousness. Wonder what on earth Trisha and Door could possibly do next. And if somewhere along the way you close the book and start making up adventures of your own, we’ve won.

Because underneath all the weirdness, that’s what Trisha & Door represents to me: a connection our family shares that I can only hope other families get to experience.
